Nearly two years in production, Deth Red Sabaoth is the first release of new Danzig studio material in six years, since 's Circle of Snakes. Danzig does a good job of crafting an album of memorable tunes that hearken back to his glory days without feth nostalgic, and it's an adrenaline shot into the heart of a metal scene processed to shit by digital production techniques.

Right from the start of album-opener "Hammer of the Gods" it is immediately apparent that Glenn and the boys were reaching back to their defining sound, one characterized by Tommy Victor 's PRONG interpretation of John Christ 's monolithic morbid riffs and Glenn 's eerily cold, bluesy wail.
